A wonderful book! Whether you are new to Florida or a native Floridian, this book is absolutely invaluable. For years we have enjoyed taking a walk in a local park that has a natural hiking area. Additionally, we enjoy hikes throughout much of the state forest and other off the trail type places. One thing that has always rather annoyed me was my near total ignorance about many of the wildflowers I've encountered on those walks - you can only get away with calling just so many yellow flowers a "daisy". Others are quite lovely and still others look a lot like they might be related to domesticated flowers (wild orchid looks plants for example)...unfortunately, I don't know a thing about native Florida wildflowers - until now! This book is packed full of color photographs depicting oodles of flowers that I encounter on a regular basis. There is a short description and additional information...a bit more than a field guide but not exactly comprehensive. Still, very accessible.Wonderful book. Well worth the wait (I pre-ordered this and waited for the new release).

If you garden in Florida and care about local ecosystems, you need to read Craig Heugel's latest book on native wildflowers and ground covers. We're in the process of transforming our yard to native and Florida-friendly plants and his books (including Gardening for Wildlife published last year) have been so important!

This is my go-to book when I want to plant something in the yard. I'm trying to become a haven for any pollinators near our yard. Craig Huegel introduced me to quite a few new flowers in this book. The flowers I have planted from reading this book have added much value for our birds and pollinators that visit our yard. They seem to really like Firebush which also attracts migrating birds when it fruits.

Essential book for Florida homeowners that desire a bright, vibrant landscape that is full of life rather than the lifeless expanse of sod that likely came with your home. The book has excellent detail and fantastic photographs, allowing the reader to gain an appreciation for the magic of Florida's wildflowers!

Easy to read/ well organized book for Florida gardeners. Huegel does a great job outlining the many great native choices available to convert some yard into a usable space for wildlife....

Excellent resource book! Use it all the time.

This is the second of Craig Huegel's Florida Plant books that I've purchased in the last year. I would highly recommend them to serious Florida gardeners. Very helpful, wonderful photographs, superb writing. Just a joy to have in the garden library.

My Florida native wildflower & grasses go to book. Author is an expert and writes in a way the home gardener can understand.
