I decided to purchase a Merck Index to help me with Chemistry classes. This particular copy has tons of information that is very useful to the chemistry student. I know everyone looks things up online but you can't beat owning a great resource book that will last.

There is no reason to buy a brand new edition of this manual, because the older editions have similar information, possibly different with regards to minor details of the measurements (.5 degrees melting point, etc). If you are looking for a Merck Index, buy used.
